Software we use
Content management systems
When your website is complete, you’ll want to log in to it to update its pages, change text and images, add new users, manage orders and form submissions, and so on. In other words, you want to have full control over your new site. We use content management systems (CMSs) such as Drupal and WordPress for these sorts of sites.
Ecommerce software
When you want to sell products online, you need a site with a full set of ecommerce features. It needs to be easy to load products and categorise them, manage inventory, fulfill orders, see the profiles of your customers, and add other pages to the site. We build these sites using Shopify or WooCommerce.
Frontend frameworks
Some websites need more than static pages that look the same for every visitor; they need to provide a unique experience that allows the visitors to use the site like an app, or even a game. The pages need to load quickly, and be customised to the visitor. For these sites, we use frontend (JavaScript) frameworks such as Angular, Vue, and React.
Online site builders
Your website needs may be more modest than that, and your website budget may not be large. For beautiful simpler sites that are still uniquely designed, we use a fantastic online website builder tool called Webflow. It’s faster than the CMSs, but much more flexible than alternatives like Squarespace and Wix.
Modern coding languages
We build sites using the industry standard languages that have been trusted by experts for years. We use HTML to structure websites, CSS to make them look great, and JavaScript to make them fully interactive. And when we need to customise a site’s backend, we use a language like PHP.
Website testing tools
We also need to make sure that the sites we build are safe and secure, and load really quickly. They also need to be fully bug-free. To achieve this, we use the professional cross-browser testing tool Lambda Test, and the fantastic end-to-end testing tool Cypress.
